Transition into Fall

Hi Everyone! I seriously can't believe that it is already time for fall and leaves are starting to change in other parts of the country.  Growing up in the desert, I've never quite known when to transition into fall because the signs are less obvious.  One night it will get really cold and all of a sudden it's fall lol!

With that in mind my wardrobe also goes through a similar level of confusion, so I wanted to show you some outfit ideas I love and how they can help ease you into fall attire.  Most of these incorporate light pastel tones, so that your summer outfits that you just bought on sale can get some wear.  The key is adding another layer whether that's a scarf, or a comfy sweater over your normal tank.  If it's not too hot you can also add some cute ankle boots too!

What are some tips you have for transitioning your fall wardrobe?

My Picks from the LC Runway Collection

I was so excited to hear about Lauren Conrad's runway collection!  Normally when I think of runway fashion the first things that comes to mind are trends that are hard to wear for the every day girl and outrageous price tags.  I am happy to report that this collection is nothing like that.  The entire line is feminine and functional and is available at Kohls on sale for 25% off!

I already ordered a couple of pieces and was able to apply an additional 30% off the sale price with another coupon.  I have always been very pleased with the LC Lauren Conrad clothes from clothes, but I'll let you know how everything is once I get it.

What are some of your favorite items from her collection?

Guide to the Perfect Valentine's Day: What to Wear

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I plan to do a 3 part series leading up to the 14th. What's not to like about a holiday filled with pink, sweet treats, flowers, and love? It may seem cheesy to most people, but I love the idea of showing friends and family how much you care and surprising them with something sweet.

Today I'm showing you some of my favorite outfit inspirations for the day of.  It's complete with skirts, tulle, pink, red, and stylish accessories.  Stay tuned tomorrow for some cute gift ideas!

Fall Style

Even though it still hasn't really cooled down here, I am finding myself drawn to fall colors like brown, maroon, teal, and navy.  I have wanted to break out some scarves, boots, and comfy sweaters, but the one day I tried to I immediately regretted it after being out in our 80 degree weather lol!
On a side note, I had wanted to write a couple blog posts last weekend, but unfortunately my weekend was cut in half.  The week before last I was in Chicago for a work trip. On Friday the flights out of O'Hare were delayed due to an incident at the air traffic control center.  My flight ended up being delayed by about five hours, which caused me to miss my connecting flight home.  I ended up having to spend the night in Denver and didn't get home until about 4:30 pm on Saturday.
Work has been really crazy for me this week as well.  I worked some 12 hour days and I am just a little tired.  Luckily today I slept in for 11 hours, so I am feeling nice and rested!  Next week I'll be giving you all an update on my fitness journey, because at least through all of this I have been very consistent and have been making better choices with my eating.
Thanks again for stopping by and have a great week!

Confessions of a Shopaholic: JCrew Fall Picks

In last week's post I admitted that I am a true shopaholic and promised to share all of my desired purchases instead of actually buying them.  You can read more about it here.

I was again browsing the JCrew website and became even more inspired for upcoming fall fashions.  Keep in mind that I live in New Mexico, and it's still 85 degrees outside.  Nonetheless, I am ready to start wearing boots, scarves, and layers. The pieces above are light enough to wear now as we transition into fall, but they represent all of the fall hues I am most excited about.  I am currently loving anything burgundy, navy, and cognac, but I have also seen these colors pair well with light pinks and greys.

What are you most excited about for fall?

Confessions of a Shopaholic: JCrew Sale Picks

My name is Clarissa and I'm a shopaholic...no really I am.  I literally love shopping, whether it be online, in stores, clothing, home décor, or anything else.  Online shopping is definitely one of my downfalls.  As most of you know JCrew is one of my favorite brands, and now they have this handy dandy feature of allowing you to save items to a wish list.  Well my wish list (and shopping bag for that matter) is always full.  Sometimes I take the plunge and buy most of it, but sometimes I exercise restraint and just look at it every day until it hopefully goes on sale and I can afford to buy more.  See what I mean? I seriously have a problem lol.

My new solution to this problem is to share these items with you all every week.  I am hoping that this will somehow keep me from buying some of these items. I really need to start saving money and I have so many clothes in my closet already, so I truly don't need anymore.  Hopefully these posts are a source of inspiration for you as well.

Any fellow shopaholics out there have the same problem?

Summer Shorts

As I mentioned yesterday, I feel like summer is quickly coming to an end.  I have to say that I will miss the warm weather, but I am looking forward to pulling out my boots, scarves, and sweaters for the fall season.  The pictures above are from my Pinterest board "Summer Shorts."  These are some outfits that have inspired my weekend attire and have reminded me that I still have about a month to where cute shorts like these!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Black Shorts 3 ways

Outfit #1:  stripe shirt | Quilted Bag | Sandals
Outfit #2:  Chambray Shirt | belt | wedges | sunglasses
Outfit #3:  tee | cap toe flats | bracelets

I feel like summer is almost over. Maybe it's because I'm already seeing fall décor ideas on Pinterest, or maybe because most stores are starting to bring in fall pieces here and there.  Either way I know that I only have about a month left of warm sunny weather, so I plan to take advantage of it.  During the summer I live in shorts and a t-shirt and I figured I would share some outfit ideas on how to style this pair I found online at JCrew.  The good news is that most of these items are on sale, so happy shopping!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

These images are from my Pinterest board "Red, White and Blue", which is dedicated to all things patriotic.  Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, so it was fun putting together some creative ways to do so.

Wishing you a great day filled with lots of love, friends and family, and some good food!

Pink Midi Skirt

Another trend I am really loving right now is a light pink midi skirt.  I purchased one from ASOS and needed some inspiration on how to style it.  I love how feminine yet versatile it is, so that you can dress it up with a pair of heels or dress it down with a chambray shirt and sandals.
What are some trends you are loving this summer?

Panama Hat

Recently I purchased this hat from JCrew Factory and I can't wait to wear it.  Here are some fun ways to style the Panama hat and sources of inspiration for me.  If you are looking to purchase your own you can also look here or here.
Have a great weekend!
