Life Lately

So it has been a while since I last posted. Initially work was a little hectic, so I thought it best to take a little break. Then I got a promotion at work and thought things would let up a bit and boy was I wrong! I took this week off for a relaxing "staycation" and wanted to give you all an update on what I have been doing all this time.

I absolutely love my new job! I'm doing some consulting type work and it requires that I travel to different offices each week. It has been such a wonderful experience getting to see new places and work with new people. This was one of the biggest risks I have taken because I am working in a completely different department and don't have much experience in this type of work. Although I'm learning a lot it has not been easy living out of a suitcase week after week. I've picked up a few tricks and plan to share them in upcoming posts.

What big risks have you taken at work?

Thanks for stopping by!

Guide to the Perfect Valentine's Day: What to Give

Today I'm sharing some Valentine's Day gift ideas with you all.  I tend to always stick with classic chocolate as a gift, but I was browsing Pinterest (of course!) and found some cute alternatives.

One gift that is always well received is a handwritten note or even a handmade card. I love to receive something in the mail and it has a way of making people feel extra special as opposed to just receiving a text or an email.

You can never go wrong with homemade goodies and treats.  Try and spice up the packaging a bit by using a mason jar or even a cute decorated paper bag.  There are so many blogs and websites that offer  free printable gift tags that are the perfect finishing touch to any gift.

Another great gift idea is cute mugs or decorative bowls like the ones pictured.  Whether your a tea or coffee drinker, everyone appreciates a stylish mug to sip their favorite drink from.

If you still can't think of a gift idea for someone then why not host a Valentine's brunch for your friends and loved ones.  The one pictured above is so pretty and feminine and attending is a gift all in itself.  You could even give away the flower centerpieces as favors or make homemade gift tags as place cards for your guests to take home.

What other gifts do you like to give on Valentine's Day?
