DIY: Sequin Hanger

I am totally loving the sequin hangers I see all over Etsy.  I have a couple from Pearls and Pastries and I love them! I decided to try to make one and it was easier than I expected.  I made this one for my best friends B-day...Happy Birthday Renee!!

Here's what you need to make your very own.  By the way I purchased 10 yards of the sequin roll and it was way to much.  For one hanger you probably only need about 4 yards.

Start by applying some glue directly onto the hanger.  Then wrap the sequins around.

Glue and wrap some more.

Glue and wrap some more...

...and voila! You have your very own sequin hanger!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY project. Personally, I cant wait to buy some sequins in different colors and start making more of these for my closet! :)

Pink Midi Skirt

Another trend I am really loving right now is a light pink midi skirt.  I purchased one from ASOS and needed some inspiration on how to style it.  I love how feminine yet versatile it is, so that you can dress it up with a pair of heels or dress it down with a chambray shirt and sandals.
What are some trends you are loving this summer?

The Best Blueberry Muffins

I made some blueberry muffins this morning and they turned out great, so I figured I would share the recipe.

I made two batches, which made 24 muffins.

They are really moist, soft, and bursting with blueberries.

The best part is they are really simple and easy to make.

Here's what you'll need...

Ingredients:

1 and 1/2 cup flour                  3/4 cup whit sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt                     2 teaspoons baking powder

1/3 cup vegetable oil              1 egg

1/3 cup milk                           1 cup blueberries (I used a tad more)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degree

Whisk together all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder) in a medium mixing bowl.

Place the oil and egg in a 1 cup measuring container.  Fill the rest up with milk. Note that this comes out to slightly more than 1 cup.  Add to dry ingredients and mix everything together.

Fold in the blueberries.  Be sure to dry your blueberries after rinsing, so that there is no excess water in the mixture.

Scoop into greased muffin pan or use liners. You can fill them all the way to the top, since the rising is minimal.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Bon Apetit!

Panama Hat

Recently I purchased this hat from JCrew Factory and I can't wait to wear it.  Here are some fun ways to style the Panama hat and sources of inspiration for me.  If you are looking to purchase your own you can also look here or here.

Our Cruise to the Bahamas

Day 1: Boarded the ship from Ft. Lauderdale. Enjoyed the view of the beautiful ocean as we sailed away. Had a delicious sushi dinner along with some refreshing cocktails (Blue Hawaiians are officially my fave!)

Day 2: Toured Nassau, Bahamas and purchased some awesome souvenirs.  Saw some beautiful architecture and million dollar homes along the bay. It was Labor Day for the locals, so they had a parade along the streets complete with live music, dancing, and colorful floats.  Everything is so lively and colorful here. We also got the chance to experience a glass bottom boat tour and see a variety of different fish and coral.

Day 3: Spent time on the private island of Coco Cay, Bahamas.  The water here was so clear and pretty. For those of you that don't know, I am not a fan of swimming in the ocean and am especially terrified of all the creatures in it (I know..I know I'm a big chicken lol). I figured since the water was so clear I might as well give it a try and boy was that a mistake.  When the water was up to my mid thigh I spotted a huge fish (like 3.5 ft. long at least!), and then another, and another.  Needless to say I booked it out of there real quick! I spent the rest of the day lounging by the beach, under palm trees and colorful umbrellas, soaking up the sun. I wouldn't have it any other way and it was so relaxing.

Day 4: The ship docked in Miami, so we got to see the city lights that night as we came in.  We didn't plan to do anything in Miami, so we spent some time on the boat.  I went to the spa for an Ionithermie treatment and swam in the saltwater pool (By the way I am totally hooked and purchased the kit to continue at home.  I lost a total of 27 inches in 3 days between my upper, mid, and lower torso and thighs.  Since continuing at home my legs feel so much smoother and firmer.). We also got to see a group called "Human Nature" perform along with an aerialist show.

Day 5: We packed up and headed off the ship back to Ft. Lauderdale.  There was plenty of time between our flight, so we spent the day exploring.  We walked by the beach, had lunch, and spent the rest of the afternoon shopping.  I went to Neiman Marcus for the first time and got to see and touch some Louboutins for the first time, along with some amazing Chanel shoes! Best day ever! :)

Overall we had such a great time on the cruise! The ship was great and there were so many fun things to do on it.  There was a rock wall, swimming pools, shops, restaurants, a cafe, shows, live music, karaoke, and so much more! The food was fantastic and you can eat as much as you want (believe me I am regretting it now lol).  This was our first cruise and we are beyond impressed.  We can't wait to go on another...maybe an Alaskan cruise!

Have you all ever been on a cruise?
