Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everyone! Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day filled with love, chocolate, and all things pink! We're keeping it pretty simple this year. We did a double date dinner with some of our friends last night. The restaurant had a special Valentine's Day menu with heart shaped appetizers and delicious desserts. This morning I made some pancakes for the first time along with bacon, eggs, and orange juice. Then we spent the day watching a bunch of chick flicks and eating chocolate covered strawberries.

How did you spend your Valentine's Day?

New Years Eve Party Inspiration

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! Can you believe that 2015 is nearly over?  I feel like the year went by so fast.  I'm really excited because we are hosting our first New Year's Eve party this year! It's going to be a masquerade party, black and gold theme, and we'll serve lots of champagne and some delicious finger foods.

Target had some amazing decorations already, so I bought a few there and at Hobby Lobby.   You know me though, I can't plan a party without a little Pinspiration, so the above pictures are some of my favorites from my NYE board. My best friend and I are going to start making some of the decorations this weekend, so it should be fun!  I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of the party.

I am going to FINISH...

Hi Everyone,

With the New Year approaching it got me thinking about my resolutions for 2015 and whether or not I followed through with them.  Overall my biggest accomplishment is my commitment to my health and fitness this year, but there are other things that fell to the wayside.  The sad thing is that if your like most people you started off doing really well with your goals in January and then lost the momentum throughout the rest of the year.  That got me thinking about how so many people set goals and end up not reaching them.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to be one of those people in 2016.  I have a list of things I am going to FINISH next year...no excuses.
  • I am going to finish all 3 P90X programs by end of 2016
  • I am going to hit my goal weight
  • I am going to commit to eating healthier as a new lifestyle
  • I am going to pay off my credit card debt
  • I am going to "shop my closet" more frequently and buy less
So what about you?  Are you going to start something and FINISH it?  Most people commit to losing weight or eating healthier, but it can be difficult if you don't know where to start.  I am hosting another FREE clean eating challenge the first week of January and I'd love for you to join.  You'll be given meal plans, grocery lists, and support/accountability from me and the others in the group.  If you're looking to kick it up a notch and commit to an exercise regimen let's chat!  There are so many options for all levels of fitness and I'd love to help you find one that is right for you and your goals.

Here's to 2016...let's FINISH STRONG!

Holiday Baking with Sprinkles Cupcakes

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!  I wanted to share some holiday baking that I did with some delicious Sprinkles baking mix. Sprinkles cupcakes are some of my favorite, so I was really excited to try out this red velvet cupcake mix. All I did was add some yummy homemade cream cheese frosting and top them with the signature dots (included) and some Naturebox Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Pops.

Have you had Sprinkles cupcakes? What is your favorite flavor?

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!
I hope your day is filled with joy, love, and some quality time with friends and family.

Thank you all so much for following along!

Guide to the Perfect Valentine's Day: What to Give

Today I'm sharing some Valentine's Day gift ideas with you all.  I tend to always stick with classic chocolate as a gift, but I was browsing Pinterest (of course!) and found some cute alternatives.

One gift that is always well received is a handwritten note or even a handmade card. I love to receive something in the mail and it has a way of making people feel extra special as opposed to just receiving a text or an email.

You can never go wrong with homemade goodies and treats.  Try and spice up the packaging a bit by using a mason jar or even a cute decorated paper bag.  There are so many blogs and websites that offer  free printable gift tags that are the perfect finishing touch to any gift.

Another great gift idea is cute mugs or decorative bowls like the ones pictured.  Whether your a tea or coffee drinker, everyone appreciates a stylish mug to sip their favorite drink from.

If you still can't think of a gift idea for someone then why not host a Valentine's brunch for your friends and loved ones.  The one pictured above is so pretty and feminine and attending is a gift all in itself.  You could even give away the flower centerpieces as favors or make homemade gift tags as place cards for your guests to take home.

What other gifts do you like to give on Valentine's Day?

Guide to the Perfect Valentine's Day: What to Wear

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I plan to do a 3 part series leading up to the 14th. What's not to like about a holiday filled with pink, sweet treats, flowers, and love? It may seem cheesy to most people, but I love the idea of showing friends and family how much you care and surprising them with something sweet.

Today I'm showing you some of my favorite outfit inspirations for the day of.  It's complete with skirts, tulle, pink, red, and stylish accessories.  Stay tuned tomorrow for some cute gift ideas!

Welcome to 2015

Happy New Year to everyone!! It has been a while since my last post, as I have been trying to focus more on my career and my overall health.  With the coming of 2015 I have done some self reflection and of course have written some resolutions and goals.  It seems so cliché because half the time people share their resolutions only to discover that two to three months later they have already reverted to back to old ways.  Unfortunately that has been the case for me over the past few years.  Today I am determined to stop the vicious cycle and finally follow through with my goals.  2015 is the year that I make a commitment and promise to myself and I am the type of person that keeps my promises and commitments.

2015 New Year Resolutions:

1.  Lose 20 pounds - Today I start P90X, so I am hoping to accomplish this goal within 3-4 months.  I will also be more conscious of my eating habits throughout the year.  Stay tuned for a blog post this weekend on more details and a new IG account to follow along with me on this journey

2.  Focus on Career -  As much as I love blogging and my Etsy shop, I need to face facts that my full time job is what is currently paying the bills.  This year I will be giving my all to work, and will be working hard to get a TDY opportunity or promotion.

3.  Pay off Debt - I have accumulated some credit card debt last year, so I really want to focus on paying it off.  The plan is to cut spending and get to the point where I can start saving more.

4. Lower Stress - I have been working on my overall health, so I plan to get more sleep, wash my face every night, and do something for my self weekly.  Whether that includes writing a blog post, painting my nails, or a fun DIY project.

5. Build Relationships - I will be focusing more on the relationships in my life with friends and family and less on social media.  Yes I will still be on IG, Pinterest, and this blog, but it will not be my main priority.

I wanted to share my resolutions with you to keep myself accountable, so you can expect some updates throughout the year.  As always thanks for stopping by!

What types of resolutions do you all plan to make this year?  How do you plan to stick to them?

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

These images are from my Pinterest board "Red, White and Blue", which is dedicated to all things patriotic.  Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, so it was fun putting together some creative ways to do so.

Wishing you a great day filled with lots of love, friends and family, and some good food!

Valentine Tulle

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! I hope you all had a day filled with love and lots of pink! Steve made the day extra special.  First I woke up to an email with a JCrew gift card (yay I can finally buy some clothes!) and then when I got home from work he planned a picnic for us.  We went out in the desert on the ATV and he had a table, chairs, wine, and some yummy turkey wraps for us to eat while we watched the sunset.  It was really romantic and was such a nice getaway.  Then to top it all off, we watched two chick flicks when we got back home.  How did you all spend your Valentine's?

On a side note I am completely obsessed with tulle skirts right now! They are so feminine and flowy and really transition well from winter to spring.  I wanted to show you some ideas on how to style them and an awesome tutorial by Cotton and Curls Blog.  I want to make one soon, so I'll be sure to blog about it if I do.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
