Our Trip to Bern, Switzerland

I am finally getting around to sharing some of our pics from the European trip we took.  First, I'll take you on a tour of Bern Switzerland, where we spent a day in.  Just a fair warning, there are a ton of pictures about to be shared...

The river that wrapped around the city was absolutely breathtaking! the picture does not do it justice, but in real life the color was a true seafoam green.

The location of the first Lindt chocolate factory.

A detailed family tree painted outside an old house. Apparently artwork like this was very common.  As the family grew they would add on floors and add to the family tree design as well.

It was a pretty cloudy day, but off in the distance were the Alps.  I didn't get a chance to see them, but I hear the view is like none other.

There were fountains throughout the city and the farther in you get the more ornate and detailed they were.  The water running through the fountains was from the beautiful seafoam green river and was supposedly very clean and drinkable.  I was so tempted to try some, but Steve was pretty skeptical.

A cute little shabby chic shop, which I always manage to find.

Now for the famous Swiss banks. It would have been so cool to open an account.

There were also clock towers all over the city, since the Swiss are known for their accurate timekeeping.

Overall we had so much fun in Switzerland and I would love to go back.  After Bern we drove into the countryside and stopped at a really charming cheese farm, where we picked up some authentic Swiss cheese.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these pictures and hearing more about our trip.  Stay tuned for more pics from Ireland and Scotland.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Ha ha so we literally have no pics of us from the whole trip! Steve and I kept saying "ok we need to take a picture of us" and I guess we just got so caught up in everything around us. Huge lesson learned though when we looked back through all the pics and weren't in any of them :(
